Upcoming Workshops & Events
Restorative & Yoga Nidra Meditation
Location: Radiance Yoga Studio in Old Town Alexandria
Date: Sunday, February 12, 2012
Time: 7:00pm-9:00pm
Cost: $30
Give yourself permission to let go, relax and explore the vast mystery of YOU. Pamper yourself amongst the blissful embrace of restorative supported poses. Slow down, surrender and open your heart to grace. We will use blankets, bolsters, eye pillows and other props so that you feel completely supported and nutured. A restorative practice can help boost the immune system, lower blood pressure, relieve fatigue, anxiety and insomnia without medication. The second half of the workshop will be a guided yoga nidra meditation. Yoga nidra is derived from the tantras and is a practice that trains the mind to learn how to relax consciously. Yoga Nidra can assist in the development of memory, increase knowledge and aid in creativity. It is said that one hour of yoga nidra is equal to four to eight hours of conventional sleep. "Like the mythological phoenix, with every session of yoga nidra we are burning the old samskaras, habits and tendencies, in order to be born anew." Leave relaxed, rejuvenated and ready to explore your week with deeper awareness and increased energy. Register at www.radiance-yoga.net.
